Samsung may bring their Exynos chipset back to life, the rumors reveal that the upcoming Exynos 2400 will outperform Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Samsung has consistently manufactured new Exynos chipsets such as Exynos 2100, 2200 over the years. However, these chipsets have also consistently fallen behind Snapdragon in terms of both performance and power efficiency and Samsung skipped the Exynos 2300 this year.
Exynos 2400 to come with a 10-core design
Samsung shipped the entire S23 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in 2023, this decision has surprised everyone. Galaxy phones were available with Snapdragon chipsets in certain countries and Exynos chipsets in others usually. However, it appears that Samsung may be preparing a strong comeback after a one year break, here are the rumors on Exynos 2400.
A tech blogger on Twitter, RGcloudS has shared some information about the upcoming Exynos 2400 chipset. Exynos 2400 will feature 10 CPU core but these cores will not operate all together. Instead, the chip will dynamically set the necessary number of cores based on the specific task running. It’s said that the new chipset will feature 1-Cortex-X4 prime core, 2-Cortex-A720 performance cores, 3-Cortex-A720 performance cores running at a lower clock speeds and 4-Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.
According to another blogger, Exynos 2400 managed to get a higher score on Geekbench compute test compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While it is difficult to verify the accuracy of these rumors at this stage but if they turn out to be true, both Snapdragon and Apple will face a formidable new competitor.
