Google Pixel phones get security updates faster than any other Android device. That’s because Google creates these updates not just for Pixels, but for all Android phones. Right now, Google is rolling out its April security patch to Pixel devices.
April 2025 update is now live for Google Pixel devices
The monthly software patch update for April 2025 has been started rolling out to the eligible Google Pixel smartphones. The official Made by Google account on X/Twitter have announced this. The update runs on Android 15 operating system and brings certain bug fixes and UI optimization.

When your Pixel device will receive the update depends on the carrier and the model. As of right now, the update is rolling out in batches which means only a few handful of peoples will get the update first–before anyone else–to make sure that there’s no major bug or software glitch in the UI.
Regarding the changelog, the brand has not released the detailed changelog of the update yet. However, in their X/Twitter post, they have confirmed that the latest update brings improvements to certain areas such as biometrics, camera, display & graphics and user interface. You may have a look at the detailed changelog once the update lands on your Pixel device.
Google’s April 2025 update for Pixel devices brings key improvements in biometrics, camera, and UI. While it’s rolling out in batches to ensure stability, it’s a bit frustrating that the full changelog isn’t available yet. Hopefully, we’ll get more details soon.
