For years, Android smartphone makers have been able to offer more RAM than iPhones. While having more RAM can lead to improved performance in certain situations, it is important to note that without a much more powerful processor, the overall performance improvement is not significant.
One significant advantage of having extra RAM is the ability to keep tons of apps open in the background simultaneously. While iPhones are known for their powerful processors, they tend to fall behind Android devices when it comes to multitasking and keeping a large number of apps running in the background.
Let’s take the example of a device with 16 GB of RAM and flagship processor. Such a device can comfortably handle around 30 basic Android apps running simultaneously in the background. With the introduction of new Android phones featuring 24 GB of RAM, this limit is likely to increase even further, maybe 50 apps at the same time? It’s yet to be seen and in fact, if other Android manufacturers adopt Samsung’s DeX, which offers a desktop-like experience when connected to a monitor, Android devices could essentially become a portable mini computer.
Android phones with 24 GB RAM
Digital Chat Station, a Chinese tech blogger revealed that there will be a variant of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro equipped with a massive 24 GB RAM. This huge amount of RAM will be paired with 1 TB storage.
Currently, there are already many Android phones with 16 GB of RAM. OPPO is apparently not stopping itself from offering plenty of RAM in its phones. OnePlus 11 and OPPO Find X6 Pro have variants with 16 GB RAM, and they’re not even gaming phones.
When it comes to smartphones with the highest specifications, ZTE stands out as one of the brands offering impressive options. ZTE nubia Red Magic 8 Pro, introduced in 2022, already has a version featuring 16 GB of RAM. If OnePlus Ace 2 Pro goes official with 24 GB RAM, it is likely that other phones featuring the same amount of RAM will primarily come from brands that make gaming phones.
Considering that OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to be unveiled soon, it appears that OPPO will be pushing the boundaries of Android phone specifications to new limits thanks to their super fast charging phones and extra more RAM offered at a fair price. We will continue to provide you with updates on upcoming phones and their specifications.
