iPhone may get support of RCS on several more prepaid carriers

Apple has recently introduced support for RCS (Rich Communication Services) on its iPhones, and all major carriers now support RCS on iOS. However, the rollout has not yet begun for prepaid carriers. Some of the larger networks, such as Mint Mobile and US Mobile, still lack RCS support. Fortunately, we have good news: Apple is reportedly working to extend RCS support to more prepaid carriers in the future.

RCS on iPhone is coming to more prepaid carriers

Apple is reportedly working to add the support of RCS on all the prepaid carriers. However, there’s a catch. Not all the carriers will offer ‘direct’ support of it. But rather, the iPhone users on T-Mobile network without the native support of RCS will be allowed to connect with the T-Mobile’s default RCS carrier bundle.

Users on Reddit have shared that it’s now possible to enable RCS on the latest iOS 18.4 Beta. Right now, this support is only available for Mint Mobile, but another Reddit user mentioned that RCS is expected to roll out to all T-Mobile MVNOs soon. However, since it’s currently disabled and the endpoints aren’t properly configured, it might take a little more time before it’s fully functional.

Overall, this report suggests that major prepaid carriers like Mint Mobile and US Mobile will soon get RCS support for iOS. However, for now, access to RCS on Mint Mobile is limited to a small group of users, as it’s currently part of the iOS 18.4 Beta, which is only available to selected testers.
