Meta’s new AI capable of reading human mind with 80% accuracy

AI has advanced so much in the past few years. Beyond the typical AI-powered chatbots, we now have a wide range of AI tools and gadgets available. Meta, which has been developing its own AI, has reportedly created a model capable of reading human thoughts and reconstructing brain activity with up to 80 percent accuracy. This is mind-boggling, if true!

Meta has created an AI model that can read human mind

Meta AI, in partnership with Basque Centre on Cognition, Brain, and Language has developed an AI model that is capable or reading and reconstructing sentences from the human brand with the accuracy of whopping 80%. The research has used the non-invasive brain recording method and it can develop a tech that can help people who have lost the ability to speak.

There are some brain-computer interfaces already but most of them requires invasive implants. But since the Meta’s approach uses magnetoencephalography (MEG) and electroencephalography (EEG), it eliminates the need of invasive approach. This technique can read and measure brain activity without any implant or surgery.

Going back to the Meta’s AI model, it is reportedly trained on the data gathered from 35 volunteers. The company claims that the model was able to predict sentences with upto 80-percent accuracy, when tested on new sentences. The sentences were typed using MED data, which is twice as effective as EEG-based decoding.

While the model and its functionality seem impressive, what is even more intriguing is what the future holds for it. Will it become commercially available, and will humans be able to utilize it in the coming years?
