OnePlus Open 2 Axed, But Brand Still Committed to Foldables

In a sudden announcement OnePlus has officially terminated plans to launch its foldable smartphone OnePlus Open 2. The company’s statement through product manager Vale G. declared that OnePlus would concentrate on its essential products while allowing Oppo to represent the foldable segment. The market launch of Oppo Find N5 remains the sole primary product representing their foldable technology instead of an upcoming OnePlus Open 2 model.

Multiple fans share surprise about this unexpected move since the original OnePlus Open achieved market success through its impressive design along with prime hardware specifications and stunning camera technology features. The Open 2 unfolded to become a strong successor of its predecessor by delivering upgrades through a thinner profile and better sturdiness and improved camera hardware.

The leaking information indicated that the smartphone would use a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and carry a triple camera configuration featuring a 50MP primary lens and a bigger battery.

Throughout markets where the BBK Electronics family exists with the OnePlus and Oppo brands, the Oppo Find N5 stands as the main foldable technological option. The cancellation has disappointed the OnePlus fan base although the company can redirect efforts to excel in its core product categories.
