Samsung has started working on its next generation of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 lineup. There will be three devices in the series: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The S26 Edge might launch later. Anyway, we have a new information that suggests that the upcoming flagship of Samsung will pack 16GB of RAM.
Galaxy S26 series to pack 16GB of RAM, that’s twice as much as the iPhone 16 series
A claim made by Macquarie Research, shared by @Jukanlosreve on Twitter/X reveals that the Galaxy S26 lineup will standardize the 16GB RAM variant across all of its devices. The devices will launch in early 2026. This is good step as the current Galaxy S25 lineup brings 12GB RAM as maximum option for the global markets. The Chinese and Korean units, however, has 16GB of RAM.

The current iPhone 16 series max out at 8GB RAM so that’s safe to say that the Galaxy S26 series will pack twice as much as RAM compared to the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 17 Pro models are rumoured to get 12GB RAM and the base models will still follow the legacy of providing 8GB of RAM.
Now how this RAM upgrade will affect the devices remains to be seen. However, higher RAM capacity combined with good optimization doesn’t is always a welcome decision.
