We’re all familiar with Samsung’s in-house chipsets, famously known as Exynos. Howeever, Exynos hasn’t had the best track record. It has consistently lagged behind rivals like Snapdragon and Apple’s custom silicon. That said, things might be about to change. Rumors suggest the next Exynos chipset could mark a major turnaround, potentially even surpassing Apple’s A18 Pro in performance.

Samsung Exynos 2600 to outperform Apple A18 Pro
Samsung is reportedly working on the Exynos 2500 chipset. It is expected to make its official debut later this year in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphone. The Exynos 2500 is going to be the company’s first 3nm based mobile chipset. The firm will launch its successor in 2026, dubbed the Exynos 2600 and it will based on 2nm finfet technology.
But ahead of any official annoucement, the official benchmark scores of the Exynos 2600 has been leaked. A tipster @OreXda on Twitter/X has said that Samsung is making an interesting change with the upcoming Exynos 2600 mobile chipset.
As per the information, the Exynos 2500 will have a 10-core CPU, whereas its successor, the Exynos 2600 will have a reduced 8-core CPU. It may have two Cortex-X primary cores and six Cortex-A performance cores. Initial Geekbench 6 benchmark testing shows that it was able to scores 2950 points in single-core test and 10,200 points in multi-core test.
While we do not have a lot information about the chipset yet, the initial Geekbench 6 results shows that it is faster than the Apple A18 Pro chipset in terms of multi-core performance. Howeever, by the time Exynos 2600 will make its official debut, the A18 Pro will be nearly two years old. So it would be interesting to see how it will compete against the latest chipset from the house of both Apple and Qualcomm.
