Huawei’s MatePad SE, an affordable tablet, has been unveiled in China in a brand new variant with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. This tablet is not available globally, but we expect it to be introduced in the global market in the near future.

Huawei MatePad SE features a Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is not very powerful but should be enough for everyday tasks. It doesn’t have a high refresh rate display, instead featuring a 60Hz 10.4-inch IPS display.
Previously, the tablet was offered in two versions: one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and another with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, the newly introduced variant now boasts 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. You might ask is the extra RAM worth with a device powered by Snapdragon 680 but we believe it’s really worth it. Tablets are made for handling many apps in the background, you wouldn’t want your apps closed in the background even you have a somewhat weak CPU.
The tablet packs a 7700 mAh of battery and the Chinese website of Huawei reveals that the tablet is shipped with a 5V/2A charging adapter, meaning it doesn’t come with a fast charging but a 10W adapter instead. The tablet also features microSD card support.
The newly released 8GB+128GB variant of MatePad SE is priced at 1499 CNY in China which is around 207 USD. The tablet is currently available in blue and black colors in China. Share your thoughts about Huawei MatePad SE in the comments!
