Vivo is gearing up to release its next generation of foldable phones very soon. The development of the new device is already in pace. Last year, only Vivo launched its X Fold 3 series, and now the brand is readying the next version of its foldable phone lineup, with the phone being supposedly titled as Vivo X Fold 5.

More Details
As per new leak, the Vivo X Fold 5 will feature a 6.53-inch LTPO cover display and an 8.03-inch 2K+ foldable AMOLED main display, both supporting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Although it’s not the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset but 8 Gen 3 still offers blazing fast performance and efficiency.
Another highlight of the X Fold 5 is its battery capacity, featuring the largest battery ever on a folding device at 6000mAh. This massive battery will be paired with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging technology. Despite this large battery, the X Fold 5 remains impressively slim at 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded.
When it comes to imaging, of course, Vivo will come at the top. And the X Fold 5 is not any different, featuring 50MP triple rear camera setup, which includes a Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, and a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, all co-engineered with Zeiss optics. The device also offers dual 32MP selfie cameras—one on each display.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, multiple AI capabilities, a 3-stage alert slider, and an IPX4 rating for durability.
Launch Timeline
There are currently no official details about when this device will be launched, but as per leaks, Vivo will launch the X Fold 5 in Q3 2025 in China. Regarding the Global Launch, it is yet to be confirmed, but as per previous records, we can expect this device to launch in selected Asian countries.
