Vivo has officially launched its next-generation foldable device, the Vivo X Fold 5, in the Chinese market. The phone boasts some of the best hardware available on a foldable smartphone in the market, directly rivalling the likes of the Oppo Find N5 and the upcoming Galaxy X Fold 7. At only 219 grams, the Vivo X Fold 5 might be the lightest foldable smartphone ever made, lighter than several traditional regular phones. Advanced materials and engineering allowed the phone to be just 4.3mm thick when unfolded and 9.33mm thick when folded.

The Vivo X Fold 5 features a 2K+ foldable AMOLED screen, measuring 8.03 inches, and an LTPO cover screen, measuring 6.53 inches. Support for a 120Hz refresh rate is expected for both screens, so you can enjoy fast and responsive visuals.The Smartphone will also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and the RAM and storage are expected to be up to 16GB and 512GB, respectively. Although it’s not the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset but 8 Gen 3 still offers blazing fast performance and efficiency.
Another highlight of the X Fold 5 is its battery capacity, featuring the largest battery ever on a folding device at 6000mAh. This massive battery will be paired with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging technology.
When it comes to imaging, of course, Vivo will come at the top. And the X Fold 5 is not any different, featuring a 50MP triple rear camera setup, which includes a Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, and a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, all co-engineered with Zeiss optics. The device also offers dual 32MP selfie cameras—one on each display.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, multiple AI capabilities, a 3-stage alert slider, and an IPX8+IPX9+IPX9+ and IP5X ratings for water and dust resistance. Vivo also confirmed that the X Fold 5 is compatible with Apple’s ecosystem, including iPhone, AirPods, MacBook, Apple Watch, and iCloud.

The Vivo X Fold 5 will be available in China starting July 2 via the official e-store and select e-commerce sites. It comes in four Colour options, including Baibai (green), Qingsong (white), and Titanium (black).
