Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 Aims to Resolve Slow Update Issue

Xiaomi is indeed working on the upcoming Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0. We are not too far from the official launch of the software now. The expected release date and rollout schedule of HyperOS 2.0 is already out on our website. However, keeping that aside, the firm is expected to address all existing issues with the HyperOS. While there may not be a lot of design and UI changes, some reports arising online claim that it will have tons of changes in the backend.

Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 will support faster rollout on eligible devices

One of the major complaints with MIUI and HyperOS 1.0 was the slower update rollout. It was very rare to see any Xiaomi device getting monthly updates. Almost all of them were getting bi-monthly updates. This slower update policy was one of the reasons why other brands excelled in terms of software update rollout policy.

But Xiaomi being Xiaomi, it seems that the brand has now addressed the issue of slower update rollout. As per our in-house leaker, Xiaomi will add support for faster update rollout in the upcoming HyperOS 2.0. The exact rollout policy will still depend on device to device, and flagships will get the most priority. High-end Xiaomi models are expected to see a monthly update policy for the coming devices.

This is going to be very good news for Xiaomi users. Bi-monthly or quarterly updates feel a lot slower and it’s high time that Xiaomi should start providing monthly updates to all the eligible devices. Our expectations are high for the upcoming HyperOS 2.0 and we hope that Xiaomi will address all the existing issues with its software.

Expected changes in the upcoming HyperOS 2.0

The upcoming HyperOS 2.0 is going to have a good overhaul throughout the system. Here is the list of expected changes in the upcoming UI:

Improved Animations – Xiaomi’s software is known for providing one of the best animations in the Android world. However, the animations were a little messed up on the HyperOS 1.0. But Xiaomi has taken note of that and they are going to implement a new animation engine along with the improved animations in the upcoming HyperOS 2.0.

Redesigned Control Centre – Xiaomi’s control centre looks very different from what you get on stock Android. They follow a more iOS-like approach. Anyway, with the upcoming HyperOS 2.0, Xiaomi is going to redesign its existing notification panel a bit. We will see a new version of the control centre.

Redesigned Apps and Icons – This was a long due since MIUI. Now this is finally happening with the upcoming Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0. Apps and icons will see a brief redesign in the upcoming version. This will give Xiaomi’s software a new identity and look.

Better Notification Control – HyperOS 2.0 is expected to come with better notification management. The user interface for displaying the notifications is also expected to be changed. Users will be able to access and interact with the notifications more easily. Multiple notifications from a single source will be stacked into one so that it doesn’t create any unnecessary mess in the UI.
