Xiaomi has announced its next generation clamshell type smartphone, the Mix Flip 2. By marking a new benchmark, it is now the first in the flip-style foldable category that has a massive 5165mAh battery, which breaks battery capacity records previously established by other devices that used the same form factor. It uses ultra-high silicon battery technology featuring 10% silicon with an outstanding energy density of up to 843Wh/L, ensuring an 18% increase in daily battery life.
In terms of performance, Mix Flip 2 runs on the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and performs much faster and more responsive than any Flip phone in the market. Dual VC 3D heat dissipation Expression and high-end dual cooling controls the heating problem, and removing the shortcoming of the previous generation, Xiaomi has added 50W wireless charging support.
One of its best innovations is the hinge mechanism. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 features the industry’s first three-level connecting rod + four free plates hinge mechanism. This latest hinge slashes the visibility of creases dramatically. Even after 200,000 folds, the depth of creases can still be less than 50μm, thanks to the use of 6.86-inch 50μm ultra-tough flexible glass, the display looks nearly brand new even after extensive use.
The 4.01-inch cover screen has no sluggard as well. It comes with M9 Luminous material and a maximum brightness of 3200 nits, which makes it highly visible in any of the weather conditions making it usable and beautiful too. Xiaomi says that we can use the cover screen the same as you use the inner screen.
Overall, the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is built on a solid foundation led by the first generation Mix Flip, removing its major shortcomings, focusing on durability and usability.
