Xiaomi to Launch ACs, Refrigerators, and More in 2025, Expanding Its IoT Product Lineup

Xiaomi, known as one of the world’s biggest consumer electronics companies will be making a significant expansion to its Internet of Things (IoT) line-up with the introduction of various new electronics such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and other home appliances in 2025. This step further marks the continued evolution from a smartphone manufacturer to a comprehensive tech ecosystem manufacturer.

As confirmed by Alex Tang, general manager of Xiaomi South East Asia Region, Xiaomi will be introducing a variety of home appliances in the global market starting with SouthEast Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia etc. This includes Xiaomi air conditioners, Xiaomi refrigerators, Xiaomi washing machines etc. Over the past few years the company has transformed its business model from solely focusing on smartphones to creating a robust ecosystem of interconnected devices.

Many global consumers wanted to see more Xiaomi home appliances to be sold in their home markets which were only exclusive to the Chinese market however things will change next year. With the company’s new vision of creating an ecosystem of Human×Car×Home where all the smart devices will intelligently communicate with each other.

While the company is known for its aggressive pricing, the consumer electronics industry is very fierce on competition. From the likes of already well established brands like Samsung, LG etc it will be worth seeing how Xiaomi will be able to create a space for its offerings. However, Xiaomi’s unique advantage is that integrating its IoT devices with each other seamlessly can give it a major edge over other competitors, especially those who already have Xiaomi products at home will likely to invest in more Xiaomi ecosystem products.
