When Apple introduced the iPhone 15 lineup, it also unveiled its own set of Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, called ‘Apple Intelligence.’ This includes a range of tools like AI paraphrasing, AI grammar checks, and an AI notes summarizer, among others. One of the most talked-about features is ‘Visual Intelligence,’ which relies on the camera control button to work. Until now, this feature is only available on the latest iPhone 16 models as only these models have the ‘camera control’ button. However, Apple has now officially confirmed that it will soon bring Visual Intelligence to the iPhone 15 Pro models as well.
Apple Intelligence’s Visual Intelligence feature is coming to iPhone 15 Pro models
Apple Intelligence is currently available on only a handful of devices. It’s supported on the latest iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, the iPhone 15 Pro models miss out on one of the standout features of Apple Intelligence, called ‘Visual Intelligence,’ mainly because they don’t have the ‘camera control button’ needed to activate it.
However, one of the representatives from Apple has confirmed to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber that the firm is working to bring the Visual Intelligence feature to iPhone 15 Pro models soon. The feature maybe added in the iOS 18.4 update or later.
You might be wondering how Apple plans to bring the Visual Intelligence feature to the iPhone 15 Pro models since they don’t have the camera control button. The solution is pretty straightforward. Apple is integrating the feature into the Action Button instead. This means users will be able to activate Visual Intelligence directly from the Action Button. Additionally, the feature will also be accessible through a toggle in the Control Center. This is a smart move, as it ensures that iPhone 15 Pro users won’t miss out on the feature just because their device lacks the camera control button.
