Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, recently unveiled its latest creation: Grok 3 AI. According to the billionaire, this new version is the most “advanced” and “smartest” AI chatbot yet. Previously, Grok was exclusive to premium users of X (formerly Twitter). However, with Grok 3 AI, the company has announced that it will be available for free to all users—though not indefinitely. Keep reading to find out more about what this means and how it works.
Elon Musk says Grok 3 AI is now available to all users, including those who are not subscribed to X Premium
Following the release of Grok 3 AI, Elon Musk took to his X account to announce that the chatbot will be available to all users, including those who haven’t subscribed to X’s premium plans. However, there’s a catch: free access will only be available as long as the servers aren’t overwhelmed. Once the servers reach capacity, access for non-premium users will be cut off. Premium subscribers, on the other hand, will retain uninterrupted access to Grok 3 AI.
Grok 3 AI goes beyond the standard features of typical AI chatbots by introducing two standout capabilities: DeepSearch and Think. The DeepSearch feature functions similarly to what you might recognize as the ‘Deep Research’ option in OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It enables the chatbot to scour the web on your behalf, gathering information to deliver a comprehensive, well-researched response to your query or prompt. Meanwhile, the Think feature leverages a reasoning model designed to tackle complex problems in areas like mathematics, science, and coding.
