You maybe already aware of this news that Google is planning to rollout the Android 16 stable this year earlier than expected. Usually, the firm releases the major Android update each year in August. However, the Android 16 is said to be officially announced as early as June or July. And in order to make it happen, the beta testing of Android 16 is already underway. Major OEMs like Xiaomi and OPPO are also internally testing their new UI based on Android 16.
Android 16 HyperOS 2 testing begins
Xiaomi has reportedly started the internal testing of Android 16 based HyperOS 2 for selected devices. You maybe wondering that why HyperOS 2? Since the best major version should be the HyperOS 3. This made because of the fact that the company is testing the newer version of Android rather than HyperOS. We may get to see updates on the custom skin of Xiaomi later.
Anyway, the company is testing Android 16 for these global devices: Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and Xiaomi 14T Pro. Alongside this, the manufacturer is also testing the build for Chinese devices: Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi MIX Flip, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and Redmi K70 Ultra.
If the testing concludes with no major issues, then Xiaomi can easily be one of the first brands to rollout Android 16 update to its devices.
