Samsung wants to play safe with Android 16-powered One UI 8

One UI 7 is already a hot topic among tech fans, but not for a good reason. While Samsung is usually known for its timely updates, the Android 15-based One UI 7 rollout has been unusually delayed—so much so that even brands like Motorola and HONOR, which aren’t exactly known for speedy updates, have already pushed out Android 15 months ahead of Samsung.

That said, Samsung has finally started rolling out the stable One UI 7 to a select few devices. But before the update even reaches everyone, we’re already getting our first glimpse of One UI 8—based on Android 16!

First glimpse of One UI 8 based on Android 16 is here

As per the report from SmartPrix, the Android 16 powered One UI 8 has been spotted running on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 7. And on a first glimpse, it is not too hard to say that the South Korean tech giant is probably going to be on a safer side with the upcoming One UI 8. This was also kind of expected since the One UI 7 brings major overhual in terms of user interface design.

The image reveals the One UI 8 running on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Per the original report, the brand is looking to focus on the optimization more than chaging the UI design or adding new features.

Various pages throughout the UI can be seen on the attached images and none of them seems to have any major changes in terms of design. One UI 7 has already done pretty well in terms of adding new features to bringing a new fresh designed user interface. However, it’s still too early to draw any conclusion since the rollout is not going to happen in the upcoming few months.
