When it comes to innovation, particularly in technology, China and its domestic companies are often the first that come to mind. In a bold new move, the country has reportedly rolled out the world’s first 10G broadband network in Xiong’an City. While many regions worldwide still struggle with inconsistent 5G coverage, China is already pushing the boundaries with next-level connectivity.

China announces its 10G broadband network
As per a report by The Economic Times, China has rolled out the world’s first 10G broadband network in its Xiong’an city, which is located in Heibei province’s Sunan county. The network aims to deliver the download speeds of whopping 9834Mbps and upload speeds of upto 1008Mbps. The network also aims to provide the users with a latency of three miliseconds.
This network tech gives China a big edge. It makes the country ahead of other countries like UAE and Singapore that are known for offering fastest commercial broadband speeds in the world.
Anyway, the 10G broadband network announced by China uses 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) technology. It is the next generation of FTTx (Fibre to the X) tech and is capable of delivering the download speeds of whopping 50Gbps and an upload speed of upto 50Gbps. One of the biggest advantage of this tech is that it can deliver higher internet speed without the need of any major infrastructural change and therefore reducing the upgrade cost for the firms.
