OPPO has finally announced the much-awaited ColorOS 15 in China. There have been many rumours and news related to it lately, and it’s finally official now. The upgraded user interface brings many changes compared to ColorOS 14, such as a new animation engine, a bunch of AI features, and a revamped user interface.
ColorOS 15: here’s what changed!
As mentioned earlier, the OPPO’s ColorOS 15 brings a ton of new features. It brings a new fluid cloud, support for live photos, improved system stability and upgraded animations. Here is the detailed changelog of the newly announced user interface:
New Fluid Cloud – The ColorOS 15 introduces a new fluid cloud feature, similar to the dynamic island we get on iPhones. It supports many functions such as incoming notifications and calls and displays live activities such as ongoing timers or the status of screen recordings. Users can also tap on it to access the advanced control of the function happening.
OPPO Mutual Transmission – OPPO’s newly announced mutual transmission tech ensures that you get the best file-sharing experience with the same brand of devices. This feature can send 100 4K files in as little as 8 seconds.
New Animation Engine – The ColorOS 15 introduced a new Aurora Engine and Tidal Engine, which ensures that the whole user interface is fast and smooth. It also supports parallel animation rendering architecture which is a great addition. The brand claims that the new experience using these upgraded engines will provide a much smoother experience.
Lockscreen Customization – Lockscreen customization was one of the highly requested features by the users and it’s now official on the ColorOS 15. The new lock screen customization also supports AI depth of field and AI filling to give a more immersive look to the design. A seamless transition animation from the lock screen to the home screen has also been added.
Revamped User Interface – Design of a lot of things have been changed in the user interface. The ColorOS 15 introduces a new design, natural lights and shadow and real-time colour mixing and blur effects to the whole UI to give it a more appealing and soothing look. System icons have been redesigned as well.

Redesigned Control Centre – The control centre has been redesigned. The new control centre gets the support of advanced blur texturing and improves its overall accessibility as well. The notification centre has also been redesigned. Users now get the choice to choose between two different styles of control centre which is a good addition.
Support of Live Photos – The ColorOS 15 finally brings the support of live photos to the camera app. Users can use this option to take some amazing photos.
OPPO AI – OPPO AI was the main headline of the launch event. The company took a lot of time to focus on this. It includes a lot of AI-based features such as one-click AI reflection removal in the images, AI image editor and eraser, AI note assistant to get summary of the note, AI speak, write and reply, AI call summary with third party support and AI voice assistant. Aside from this, there are a lot of other AI-based features such as one circle to search, document question and answer, upgraded AI studio and more.
So that was all introduced with the new ColorOS. The changes definitely look very interesting and it sparks up our excitement to try out the new user interface. The rollout to eligible devices will commence soon and the Find X8 series will be the first devices to boot up on ColorOS 15 out of the box.
