iQOO Z8 series launched today, equipped with whopping 6000 mAh battery!

iQOO Z8 series debuts in China today, introducing two different models: iQOO Z8 and iQOO Z8x. iQOO Z8x represents a more affordable version compared to the standard Z8 model, yet it boasts a whopping 6000 mAh battery capacity while maintaining a slim 9.1mm thickness. We say that the Z8x is a cheaper alternative of the Z8 but users who need a long battery life should definitely check out the Z8x. Let’s dive into the iQOO Z8 series, starting with iQOO Z8.

iQOO Z8 specifications

Both the iQOO Z8 and Z8x exhibit a similar external design, though iQOO Z8 distinguishes itself as a significantly more powerful device due to its MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. The Dimensity 8200 chipset is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is available in three variations: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB.

Details regarding the phone’s pricing are given at the end of the article. Similar to the Z8x, iQOO Z8 is offered in three color options: white, black, and blue. The device boasts a fast chipset, Dimensity 8200, and is further enhanced with fast charging technology. iQOO Z8 supports 120W fast charging and houses a 5000 mAh battery capacity.

On its front side, the phone features a 6.64-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, offering a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The fingerprint sensor is placed on top of the power button. iQOO Z8 arrives with a dual-camera setup, highlighted by a 64 MP main camera equipped with OIS, accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor. This setup allows the phone to capture videos in impressive 4K resolution, iQOO didn’t mention the phone capable of shooting at the highest frame rate though. The phone comes preinstalled with OriginOS 3 based on Android 13, the device is also packed by additional features such as a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC capability.

iQOO Z8x specifications

iQOO Z8x is another phone have been introduced today, and it’s a cheaper phone alternative compared to the standard iQOO Z8 model. Z8x is a more affordable alternative, but it also comes with the same set of colors as Z8x, just like Z8x. We can say that both phones boast a very similar design.

iQOO Z8x comes with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is significantly slower than the Dimensity 8200. This chipset is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage unit. Z8x holds its advantage in battery capacity compared to the standard model, with iQOO Z8x being equipped with an impressive 6000mAh battery! The charging speed is not good as the Z8 though, iQOO Z8x charging speed is capped at 44W, which is quite good compared to majority of the phones in the market.

iQOO Z8x features the same display size as the Z8, iQOO Z8x comes with a 6.64-inch IPS LCD display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The Z8x features dual camera as well with a 50 MP main camera without OIS and 2 MP depth sensor. The cheaper iQOO Z8x doesn’t come with NFC but rest of the specs are same as the Z8, the phone features a 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with Android 13 installed out of the box.

iQOO Z8 series was launched in China as a new midrange lineup and offers impressive battery specifications and affordable pricing. Although the 5000 mAh battery should suffice for most users, people need longer battery life can opt for iQOO Z8x, which has a capacity of huge 6000 mAh. It would have been even more impressive if these phones had an OLED display, but offering an IPS LCD screen is a reasonable decision to keep costs down. We believe the new Z8 series is quite good as the phones come with powerful features and priced fairly.
