Frequently Asked Questions

Why these devices will not get HyperOS 2.0?

The majority of the devices we have mentioned in the list have already reached their EOL, per the updated policy of Xiaomi that promises to deliver 2 years of major and 3 years of minor updates for the devices. Some devices have the promise of 3 years of major and 4 years of minor updates as well. But since HyperOS 2.0 is going to count as a major update, there are very slim chances that any of the above-mentioned devices will ever get the HyperOS 2.0 update.

Is there any way  I can still install HyperOS 2.0 on my ineligible devices?

There’s no official way to install and run HyperOS 2.0 in these devices as the brand won’t be making any official build for them. However, Xiaomi devices have good development and custom ROM support. If you know how to flash a custom or ported ROM, then you should keep an eye on the channel where the development-related kinds of stuff are discussed about your device. Some devs usually port the HyperOS ROM and make it available for ineligible devices as well. But this method is not recommended for all.

If I get HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 14, will it be different from HyperOS 2.0 running Android 15?

Yes. Since the HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 14 will utilize the code of Android 14 and its base features, it will be different from one running on Android 15. However, all the basic software-related features will be present and only those features that are going to be exclusive to Android 15 will be missed. We will have to wait for an update to come and then we can tell more if the difference is going to be huge or not.
