Kadir Can AkıncıNothing is getting ready to introduce a new phone after one year, and they revealed some of the Nothing Phone (2) specifications. Not all the specifications have been disclosed now but it can be noted that essential specifications have been revealed by Nothing. Based on Nothing’s recent Twitter post, it appears that the Phone (2) will exhibit significant improvements when compared to its predecessor, the Phone (1).
Nothing reveals Nothing Phone (2) specifications and launch date
Nothing seems to aim to reduce its carbon footprint during the production of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2). The production carbon footprint of the Phone (2) is 5 kg lower than that of the Phone (1). The recycled materials used in the production of Nothing Phone (2) are three times more than those used in the Phone (1). Additionally, Nothing Phone (2) box is entirely plastic-free.
Nothing is emphasizing that their assembly facilities run entirely on renewable energy and that the upcoming phone’s body has been manufactured from 100% recycled aluminum. These environmentally-friendly practices are commendable and serve as an inspiration for other companies to follow suit in order to preserve nature.
The statement from Nothing indicates that the screen used in the Nothing Phone (2) is 0.15 inches larger than its predecessor, meaning that Nothing Phone (2) will have a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, Nothing Phone (2) will be equipped with a larger battery, boasting a capacity of 4700 mAh which is 200 mAh more than its predecessor. We can say that the Phone (2) will be bulkier compared to the previously released smartphone.
Furthermore, it was recently announced that the Nothing Phone (2) will feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. After Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 778G, Nothing is now offering a higher-level performance for Nothing Phone owners. Nothing Phone (2) will also offer 3 years of Android system updates with 4 years of security patches. Nothing CEO, Carl Pei has revealed that the Phone (2) will be introduced in July.
