OnePlus 12 to have brightest smartphone display ever confirmed, 3000 nit display from BOE

Some details on OnePlus 12 have been circulating on the internet for a while, and OnePlus has now made an official announcement about their partnership with BOE. Preceding this announcement, there were already leaks indicating the presence of a BOE made display in the upcoming OnePlus 12. Now, OnePlus has confirmed its collaboration with BOE through an official post on Weibo. Furthermore, it appears that OPPO is also entering into a cooperative venture with BOE, as seen in the shared post. We actually shared some leaks on OnePlus 12 display specs earlier, now OnePlus officially announces their partnership with BOE.

While OnePlus’s official post doesn’t contain much information on the display specifications, according to previous leaks shared by DCS, OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 3000 nit AMOLED display. In contrast to the Samsung-made panel used in the previously released OnePlus 11, OnePlus 12 will offer a much better display.

The OnePlus 12 screen size will be 6.82-inches with a resolution of 3168×1440, indicating that it will have a 19:8:9 aspect ratio. OnePlus 12’s display is set to be significantly brighter compared to OnePlus 11, as the maximum screen brightness of OnePlus 11 is 1300 nits. OnePlus 11 had a 6.7-inch display and OnePlus 12 will feature a larger 6.82-inch one.

Extra information about OnePlus 12 reveals that it will come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and will have a 24GB+1TB variant. Lately, many Chinese manufacturers have started offering models with 1 TB storage, and it appears that OnePlus 12 is likely to be one of them. The phone may be unveiled by the end of 2023.
