It seems like the market of compact smartphones is finally reviving. Until now, the options regarding flagship compact devices were limited. But no more, we are finally getting to see brands focusing on “mini” flagship devices. Vivo first launched its Vivo X200 Pro Mini device in China and it amazed many given the hardware it packs on a small device. As per another report, OnePlus is also working on its mini device and we may get to hear about it very soon.
After Vivo, OnePlus is considering launching a mini-device
Before anything, since we do not know the marketing name of the upcoming OnePlus device, we will address it as “OnePlus Mini” throughout this post, so don’t get confused. The known tipster Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo has posted something related to an upcoming compact device.
Per his post, the OnePlus is working on a compact smartphone that will feature a 6.31-inch screen with a 1.5K pixel resolution. The brand will make use of a straight panel. Further, he says that it will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Apart from this, there is no information available on the device. But regardless, the leak is giving us a strong hint that it will pack powerful specs like the Vivo X200 Pro Mini.
The OnePlus Mini is also going to be powered by this year’s flagship chipset and therefore, it is going to be a flagship smartphone. OnePlus is known for offering powerful specs at not-so-high pricing. Their current flagship OnePlus 13 also has the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset so it will be interesting to see how the brand will differ between both models. Will they follow the same strategy as Vivo or will there be a huge gap between the OnePlus 13 and Mini?
