OnePlus is expanding its brand into a new industry, the foldable smartphone market. This market is already highly interesting, with major competitors such as Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo dominating it. But things are about to get even more fascinating as OnePlus prepares to introduce a competitor to the giants. The upcoming device’s marketing name has already been revealed as “OnePlus OPEN.” The item has now been spotted in a viral video in which a celebrity appears to be using it.
Viral video reveals how the OnePlus Open might possibly look!
Sufiyan Khan (@RealSufiyanKhan) from YouTube claimed an Indian celebrity Anushka Sharma was seen holding a OnePlus Open smartphone in her hands in a recent X (formerly, Twitter) post. The camera unit of the future smartphone may be seen in the glances. While the company has announced that the OnePlus Open India will be available soon, it has not revealed a release date for the foldable.
While the video does not reveal much about the gadget, it does confirm that the previously leaked renders were in line with how the actual device is going to look. One can easily spot the big circular camera cutout with an LED light housed on the top left corner of the bump. The celebrity was using the black variant of the gadget which was leaked in the renders as well.
According to a prior source, the OnePlus Open could have an outward folding design. The foldable is expected to cost less than INR 1,20,000 ($1,444.37). In terms of specs, it could include an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The OnePlus Open smartphone will most likely include a 7.8-inch AMOLED inner panel and a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover screen.
The foldable is rumored to include three rear cameras housed in a circular module. A 50-megapixel sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel periscope lens might power the arrangement. It could include two 32-megapixel front-facing camera sensors for selfies.
