The Alert Slider has always been a fan favorite on OnePlus phones. It’s that handy little switch that lets you quickly mute your phone, set it to vibrate, or turn the ringer back on. But now, OnePlus is making a big change—they’re replacing the Alert Slider with something new called the “Plus Key.”

The upcoming OnePlus 13s will be the first device, out of China, to feature the new Plus Key. It will serve as a replacement to the existing Alert Slider. The switch will be positioned on the left side of the device and can do multiple things, such as camera control, turn on/off flashlight and switch between different sound profiles.

Users can switch between different functions of the Plus Key. As of right now, it can do several things such as-

- Switch between Silent, Vibration and Ring modes.

t’s clear that the new Plus Key does a lot more than the old Alert Slider. But not everyone’s happy about the change. Many fans have taken to social media to complain, saying they’ll miss the satisfying response of the physical slider.

OnePlus, however, insists this is progress. They say the Plus Key allows for deeper integration with their AI features, making it smarter and more versatile than ever.
