OPPO is set to launch its latest smartwatch soon and the company will reveal OPPO Watch 5 alongside OPPO Find N3. While OPPO Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro have already been introduced in China, the Watch 5 will now make its debut.
In order to avoid the negative connotations associated with the number “4” in Chinese culture, OPPO has decided to name their upcoming smartwatch as Watch 5 instead of Watch 4. Initial details about the device have been shared by a tech blogger on Weibo.
OPPO Watch 5 launch together with OPPO Find N3
The new OPPO Watch 5 smartwatch will have the codename “Comet” and will feature a square-shaped display design just like the Watch 3 series. The upcoming smartwatch is expected to have a 570 mAh battery.
OPPO Watch 5 will support e-SIM connectivity and will be available in black and white colors, featuring a carbon fiber material. It’s worth noting that the previously released Watch 3 Pro has a 550 mAh battery. The post shared by DCS might actually refer to OPPO Watch 5 Pro. We expect the two different smartwatches to be introduced: Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.
While the full specifications of OPPO Find N3 are not known yet, previous leaks suggest that the new foldable phone will have a main camera with a Sony IMX 890 sensor (with optical image stabilization), Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and an 8-inch display. OPPO Find N3 and OPPO Watch 5 are expected to be unveiled together in the upcoming months.
