Redmi K80 Ultra: Pushing Boundaries, Going All Ultra

Xiaomi’s Sub-brand Redmi is preparing to launch its much-anticipated Redmi K80 Ultra smartphone at the end of this month in the Chinese market. The previous generation Redmi K70 Ultra gained a very good reputation and was one of the best-selling phones in its category, so many fans and enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing how Redmi will one-up its device with the new K80 Ultra. Now Redmi has officially revealed some key specifications of this upcoming monster, and from the official teasers, it can be said that Redmi is going all out.

More Details

The K80 Ultra is officially confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip. This chipset is the most powerful chip from the house of Mediatek, built on TSMC’s 3nm architecture, offering lightning-fast performance and good efficiency, combined with an independent D2 display chip processing, which can not only realize a blazing-fast performance but also improve visual processing. The official benchmarks are remarkable, and the Redmi scores over 3.24 million points in AnTuTu, which is a new record for the brand. With this flagship performance, cooling also becomes necessary. To tackle this, Redmi has equipped K80 Ultra with the largest 3D-ice Cube cycle cold pump cooling technology in a smartphone.

K80 Ultra has also been equipped with the largest haptic motor in the history of Android phones, leaving users with a 3-dimensional, fulfilling, tangible input feel. To go with this, the company has also introduced what it terms as the most powerful smartphone speakers in the market, Master-level coaxial symmetrical dual speakers.

All of this is powered by a huge 7410mAh silicon carbon battery with 100W fast charging and, for the first time, by Bypass Charging Plus tech developed by Xiaomi. Another notable feature is the biometrics, which is a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Different from the optical sensor, the ultrasonic sensor adopts the most advanced fingerprint recognition method, can recognize wet or oily fingers, and is more accurate and safer.

There is solid metal and glass build to give it a premium finish and body that matches up with its performance specifications. This fusion of high-end design and durability makes the K80 Ultra a showstopper.
