Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE’s launch is now delayed

You could say Samsung has become the poster child for delays, at least among tech enthusiasts. The corporation has come under fire for taking so long to push out the One UI 7 update. In fact, the wait has been so long that even brands like HONOR and Motorola, which aren’t known for quick updates, have begun releasing Android 15 to their handsets. According to sources, Samsung has now postponed the debut of the Galaxy Z Flip FE.

Samsung pushes the launch of Galaxy Z Flip FE further

Samsung is gearing up to grow its foldable lineup. Right now, the company offers two types of foldables—the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip and the book-style Galaxy Z Fold. But it seems Samsung isn’t stopping there. Reports suggest the brand is working on a more budget-friendly Fan Edition (FE) of the Z Flip, likely to appeal to buyers who want foldable tech without the premium price tag of the original model.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE was supposed to launch in the upcoming months, however, the launch has been reprotedly pushed now. A report coming from The Bell claims that the South Korean tech giant has delayed the launch of Galaxy Z Flip FE and the new tri-fold smartphone until sometime in the fourth quarter of 2025. Early reports claims that the device was originally meant to land in July, which falls in the third quarter.

The report doe not explicity mentions the reason behind the delay but it does claims that the Samsung has already started the mass production of the display panels of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 smartphones. This aims towards an imminent launch of these gadgets. These devices are also meant to launch before the FE edition and tri-fold smartphone.

Rumoured specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE

There have been some handful of information already available on the internet regarding the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE. First and foremost, it is claimed that the device will use same display tech as the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This means that it will have a panel with the support of 120Hz refresh rate and upto 2600-nits of peak brightness. It is said to be powered by a downgraded version of Exynos 2500 chipset.

Talking about the cameras, it will have a dual rear cameras with a 50-megapixel primary wide lens. The secondary lens will be either an ultrawide lens or a telephoto lens. There’s no information on the selfie camera but we can expect a 16-megapixel or 32-megapixel lens. But take this information as a pinch of salt since there’s no official information the gadget available yet.
