Vivo S18 Review: Why shouldn’t you buy it?

In the vast landscape of smartphones, a new player is about to make its entrance – the Vivo S18. This upcoming device is scheduled for a grand unveiling on December 14, 2023. We managed to experience and use this device before it was introduced. We closely follow the evolution of mid-range budget smartphones. We’ve enjoyed while using Vivo S18. And now we’re enjoying review of Vivo’s latest creation, the Vivo S18.

Design and Display

From the teasers and glimpses you’ve seen, the Vivo S18 seems to boast a sleek and sophisticated design. When I pick it up as a user, the 120Hz OLED display is 6.81 inches, offering vibrant visuals. The design is almost bezel-less. It has a small punch-hole. This creates a futuristic and immersive viewing experience. The devil is in the details, and I’m feeling everytime the nuances of this device’s design while using everytime.

The brush details on the back glass of the device are also quite impressive. A different flash design is also here. When we turn on the flash, a very beautiful visual is created. Using the phone’s flash makes a really aesthetic contribution to the phone. By the way, this flash uses dual color yellow and white.

Performance

On the chip, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset is delivering stellar performance. The octa-core configuration, with a combination of Cortex A715, A510, and A710 cores, hints at a harmonious blend of power and efficiency. The addition of 16 GB RAM is welcomed. I’m feeling how it improves multitasking and performance in years.

Snapdragon’s 7 series processors will provide a trouble-free using experience for many years. Today, smartphones with Snapdragon 732 series processors are still sold. Just imagine how long the lifespan of Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will be.

Camera Expectations

A triple-camera setup on the rear, spearheaded by a 50 MP primary lens, has piqued my interest. The 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens promises a versatile photography experience. The selfie camera is also strong with a 50 MP front camera with dual front flash. I enjoy capturing moments on the go. These camera specifications are enticing.

Having a Snapdragon processor offers a better photography experience thanks to a higher quality ISP. And also this 50 MP main camera supports a good OIS, so shakes in the photos taken doesn’t negatively affect the photo. This was an expected feature in a smartphone for created photography.

Battery Life

One of the most crucial aspects for any smartphone user is battery life. The Vivo S18’s 5000 mAh battery, coupled with a claimed 13.5 hours of usage, is impressive on paper. Vivo’s delivery on this promise could greatly reduce anxiety from recharging. The 4-year free battery replacement service is an additional perk. It adds assurance.

Connectivity and Multimedia

With 5G support, the Vivo S18 positions itself on the cutting edge of connectivity. The inclusion of a USB Type-C port is a welcome modern touch. I am excited to see how the multimedia aspects will enhance user experience. This includes the audio quality through the USB Type-C jack.

Security and Extra Touches

Security is paramount, and the on-screen fingerprint sensor adds a layer of convenience. A device with multiple sensors like accelerometer, proximity, gyroscope, and compass. It suggests not only intelligence but also intuition in the device. The promise of quick charging hints at a commitment to ensuring that the user’s time is optimized.
