Xiaomi is already developing the next generation of flagship smartphones powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, the Xiaomi 16 Series. However, this time the series will also have a ‘Pro Max’ model, named Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. The basic difference between the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Pro Max will be in screen size! The 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch flat screen, whereas the Pro Max will have a 6.8-inch flat screen.

Recently, Digital Chat Station leaked some new camera specifications regarding the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max variant. He said that the device will feature a triple camera setup of 50MP + 50MP + 50MP. Moreover, the device will be equipped with a new midsole periscope telephoto camera. It will have the same 5x optical zoom lens as the previous version, but it will have superior hardware specifications and performance.
Among the advanced things expected in the periscope camera is the Super QPD (Quad Phase Detection) that allows faster and accurate autofocus. It also features some impressive video shooting capabilities, such as 8K at 30 frames per second and 4K at an amazing 120 frames per second. These specs put it significantly higher than the average competitor of flagship brands and lead to the indication of a critical focus on content and videography.
The very high analog gain is another important trait of the periscope sensor of the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, and it should provide much-improved low-light performance with an otherwise excellent dynamic range. In comparison to such a well-known sensor as Sony IMX882, this new periscope module offers even better hardware by offering clearer images, enhanced color depth, and more control over highlights and shadows.
