Many people have been disappointed by the fact that Xiaomi 15 doesn’t have any periscope camera whereas the competition is all equipped with cutting edge periscope zoom cameras. It seems that Xiaomi is finally listening to the criticisms and the next generation of flagship which will be launched at the end of 2025 will be equipped with a periscope camera.
Today, the famous Chinese Blogger Digital Chat Station said that the new SM8550 ( Snapdragon 8 Elite 2) flagship series will be equipped with a periscope camera as standard. That means all the Xiaomi 16 Series devices will have periscope zoom cameras. The exact specification of the periscope sensor is currently unknown but we can expect a 3X periscope camera which will also be capable of shooting macro.
Currently the Xiaomi 16 Series is still in the early development stage so there is not much information but we can expect major upgrades in battery, display and camera systems.
Xiaomi Group President Mr Lu Weibing recently confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be released in MWC which will take place from March 3,2025 in Barcelona. Along with Ultra, Xiaomi will also launch its Xiaomi 15 flagship and various other IoT products in the Global Market.
