In 2019, Xiaomi announced the separation of the POCO brand and declared it an independent brand. However, the separation wasn’t as easy as it seems. The POCO was still using Xiaomi’s manufacturing facility and service network. Even the software running on POCO devices is a slightly changed version of HyperOS. But anyway, there’s news again related to the brand and this time, the brand has decided to shut down POCO’s official website.
POCO Global website will be shut down soon
POCO, in an official notice, has informed all the concerned that it is going to shut down its global website po.co alongside the websites of the UK, France, and other global sites. The website will be closed by December 31st this year. But that’s not all, the notice also points out that starting October 21st, 2024, all the POCO brand’s products and services will fall under Xiaomi’s official website. So basically, everything about the POCO will be now available on mi.com/global.

If you had previously made any purchase on the POCO’s official website, it would soon be reflected on Xiaomi’s official website. All other details such as customer service, and loyalty programs including the POCO points will be migrated to Xiaomi’s platform. If the user has any discounted coupons on their account, they will be re-issued to them before the closure of the POCO website and the users are advised not to worry anything about it. All the other important data will be migrated soon.
The brand says that this move is to ensure the smoothness of the Xiaomi ecosystem. The POCO, even as an independent brand will remain under Xiaomi’s architecture. This move is unlikely to affect the Indian unit of POCO and its official website, poco.in.
