Xiaomi is working to provide its users with the best-in-class software experience with its HyperOS. The firm keeps updating its software at regular intervals, sometimes monthly or sometimes bi-monthly. The new updates not only bring updated security patches but also bring a slew of changes and improvements.
The August update of HyperOS is now out for some selected Xiaomi devices. And it comes with a lot of improvements and changes under the hood.
HyperOS 1.5 August Update: Xiaomi Wants to Reduce Touch Delays to Nill
Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest update for its software, dubbed “HyperOS 1.5.” The August update brings some major changes to the user interface. Some of the changes noticed in the update till now are:
Improved Animations: It was previously rumoured that Xiaomi is targeting a major change in terms of animations in the coming version of HyperOS 2.0. It now looks like they have already started progressing towards it. The latest HyperOS 1.5 August update brings some improvements in the animations. The animations not only feel smoother now but it is reportedly more responsive as well.
Lock Screen Customization: In HyperOS, if you long press the lock screen then you get an option to customize it. This is surely helpful but it becomes kind of annoying in the cases where an accidental touch triggers it. Xiaomi has now made note of this and has enabled a toggle which allows the users to turn on and off “Long Press on Lock Screen to Edit Styles.”
Reduced Touch Latency: The August update targets to remove the touch delay in the user interface. Xiaomi is also targeting to lower the touch response time to zero. This means the software will trigger the action the moment you touch the screen, rather than a few milliseconds after it.
This was the complete list of all the major changes noticed in the August update of the HyperOS 1.5. The update is currently rolling out in batches. More and more eligible devices will receive the update in the coming days. Devices such as the Xiaomi 14 series, Redmi K70 series and K60 Extreme Edition are supposed to get the update in the first batch. Rest devices will also get the update starting end week of August or maybe early September.
Once the update reaches more devices, we will get to know about the detailed changelog of it. We will make sure to update you with the time.
