So in short, this unconfirmed report suggests that Xiaomi may close its bootloader unlocking support for its devices. Xiaomi devices boot up with HyperOS right out of the box, which in turn is a good user interface but it has its own set of issues. Many users across the globe buy Xiaomi devices only to experience the freedom of Android. They get the device to flash ROMs and enjoy other development stuff.
While there is very little probability of this happening, if this happens then Xiaomi will lose a major chunk of its users and it could have some serious consequences on the brand’s market share. But before coming to any conclusion, let us wait till any official announcement is made regarding this.
