WhatsApp is, without a doubt, very popular messaging app worldwide. The app offers UPI payment services for its users in India, alongside its original functionality. Many users find the built-in UPI payment services handy as they can directly send or request money from the contacts within the app. Now, the company is reportedly working on adding a new “bill payments” feature to the app.
New bill payment feature is coming soon to WhatsApp
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) recently gave approval to WhatsApp for rolling out UPI payment services to all of its users in the country. After the approval was given, known publication Android Authority did a teardown of the WhatsApp apk. Upon doing the teardown, they found out they the firm is testing a new “bill payments” feature.

This new feature was spotted on WhatsApp’s beta version 2.25.3.15. The company might soon launch the bill payments feature officially in India to rival some major players like PhonePe and PayTM.
More details about the feature remains unknown but it is expected that the new “bill payments” feature will allow the user to do multiple payments such as electricity, water bill and credit card bill etc. But let the feature arrive on the stable version first, only then we will be able to know about it in detail.
