Recently well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station hinted at the potential launch of new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 foldable devices on the Chinese social networking site, Weibo. As per him, Xiaomi is expected to launch its 4th Generation of foldable devices i.e. Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip in the month of July in Mainland China.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 Leaked Specifications
Xiaomi is making some very big additions to its 4th Generation of big foldable phones. The device is expected to have a large 8.03-inch 120hz 2K internal display and a 120hz FHD+ 6.5-inch cover display and is also protected by Xiaomi’s self-developed Longing Glass. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform.
Xiaomi also has good news for many photography lovers who want the joy of using a foldable phone but don’t want to compromise on cameras as well. Mix Fold 4 will boast a Leica Co-engineered Quad Camera Setup.
The main camera is powered by a 50MP 1/1.55’ Light Fusion 800 sensor with OIS then a 60MP 1/2.8 2X OV60A Portrait Telephoto Lens. This lens will also have OIS and a large aperture and now a 12MP Ultra Wide Angle Camera and finally a 10MP 5X Periscope Camera with OIS.
Mix Fold 4 camera specifications are truly impressive and it is the only foldable phone with a quad camera setup.
Another Big addition to Mix Fold 4 is the introduction of IP rating thus reducing the chance of water damage, this is the first time Xiaomi is introducing an official waterproof rating to a ‘Mix Fold’ device. The device will also have a new generation of Xiaomi’s Kneel Shaft hinge design which is said to be more durable and lightweight. Talking about lightness, the same source also hinted that the device will have weight around 22X grams making it one of the lightest foldable in the market.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will also set a record in thinness, the device is expected to be the World’s Thinnest Foldable Phone and despite such a thin body it will still have a big 5000mah battery with fast wired and wireless charging technology.
Xiaomi Mix Flip Leaked Specifications
Although tech enthusiasts are more interested in Mix Fold 4 due to its powerful specifications, Xiaomi also has a new addition to its folding family which is also worth paying attention to.
Xiaomi Mix Flip will be the company’s first clamshell-type foldable phone to be released in July. The device will also be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It will have a large cover screen and a dual camera setup – Main and Telephoto Cameras. Both cameras share the same specifications as its elder sibling Mix Fold 4 i.e. a 50MP Light Fusion 800 OIS and a 60MP 2X Portrait Telephoto Lens.
The battery is said to be around 4800 mah and has 67W fast charging support. The device is already certified on 3C certification in China and also globally.
Global Launch
As previously mentioned, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will remain a China Exclusive phone but Xiaomi will launch Xiaomi Mix Flip in global markets. The Mix Flip will compete with Galaxy Z Flip 5. The Global Launch details are still unknown but we expect that Mix Flip will be unveiled with Xiaomi 14T Series in Q3 of this year.
